Dance Bridge is a year-long community dance initiative co-hosted by Seattle Asian American Dance Association (SAADA) and Lens of Youth, offering monthly inclusive dance sessions designed to support participants of all abilities.

🌈 Program Overview

Dance Bridge is a year-long inclusive dance program featuring monthly classes that provide consistent opportunities for participants to explore movement, build confidence, and form meaningful social connections.

The program is open to community members ages 9 and above, with a special focus on supporting participants with intellectual or developmental differences. Each session is designed to be adaptive and welcoming, allowing participants to engage at their own pace in a safe and supportive environment.

Parent or caregiver accompaniment is required to ensure participant safety and comfort..

🩰 What Makes Dance Bridge Different

Unlike one-time workshops, Dance Bridge offers continuity and community. By meeting monthly throughout the year, participants can:

  • Build familiarity and trust in a consistent group setting

  • Develop confidence and comfort with movement over time

  • Strengthen social bonds and communication skills

  • Experience long-term emotional and social benefits from creative expression

Our instructors adjust activities based on participant needs and feedback, ensuring that each session remains engaging, respectful, and accessible.

🎯 Program Goals

Through the Dance Bridge program, SAADA aims to:

  • Increase access to inclusive arts education in the community

  • Support emotional wellbeing and self-expression through movement

  • Reduce social isolation among youth with developmental differences

  • Foster long-term community connections through shared creative experiences
